League Description

The 6 & under (6U) baseball division is our introductory level for both boys and girls. Your child must be 6 years old or younger as of May 1, 2020 (or at least 4)  to be eligible for this age group for the 2020 season.  Girls and boys will be placed on teams together, although we do not specify a certain amount of girls or boys for each team.

The primary focus is to for the kids to enjoy themselves while learning to throw, catch, and hit the ball. This is a coach-pitch league (NOT t-ball) with a softer (Incrediball) ball than standard. Several coaches are usually on the field helping the kids during the games.

Players will receive a full uniform - shirt, pants, hat and socks and we provide equipment such as bats, helmets and balls.  All they need is a glove and whatever shoes they prefer; and we strongly encourage players to have their own helmets (but not required).

**Practices and games are held on Friday nights with the exception of sometimes one Sunday practice held at the beginning of the season (this is determined by how early or late the season can start because of field conditions).  All games are scheduled for 6:30pm on various fields in Ham Lake and East Bethel.  Coaches also have the option of holding additional practices based on their availability and field availability.

The season starts at the end of April (exact date depends on the weather) and goes through the weekend tournament date the last weekend of June (see below).

6U GAME SCHEDULE

6U Baseball 2020 Year End Tournament - June 26-June 27

At the end of the season SBAA will set up and direct a tournament for the 6U teams.  Typically we separate them into two tiers based on wins and losses for the season.  The 1st and 2nd place teams in each tier will receive a trophy and all other teams will recieve medals for their accomplishments.

The 2020 season tournament is set to be played on Friday, June 26th and Saturday, June 27th at TBD.  We have found that a two day tournament where each team plays at least 2 games is enough for this age group.

Fees for 6U Baseball

The cost to play 6U Baseball for the 2020 season will be a total of $195.  This includes a registration fee of $95, a fundraiser fee of $50 and a volunteer fee of $50.  The fundraiser and volunteer fee are both refundable to you.  You will pay these fees on the first 2 children you register.  If you register 3 or more children you will only pay a total of $30 for their total registration fee and you will not pay for the fundraiser or volunteer fee for those children.  To find out more about our fundraiser and volunteer programs see our home page or click on the links below.
