League Description

Players must be 12 years old or younger as of May 1, 2021 in order to be eligible for this age group. 

The 12 & under (12U) baseball division continues to approach the rules of high school baseball with limited leading off and longer basepaths, but is otherwise similar to 10U baseball.

**Games and practices on Monday and Wednesday nights with an occasional game on Tuesday or Thursday if playing in Andover or Anoka.  All games are scheduled for 6:30pm and are located at various fields in Ham Lake, East Bethel, Andover and Anoka.

The season starts at the end of April (exact date is determined by the weather) and goes until the weekend tournament at the end of July (see below).

 



12U GAME SCHEDULE



12U Baseball 2021 Year End Tournament; July 16-18

At the end of the season SBAA will set up and direct a tournament for the 12U teams.  The 1st and 2nd place teams will receive a trophy.

This 2020 season tournament is set to be played Friday, July 16 through Sunday, July 18 at Ham Lake City Park.

 

12U Team formation process


12U teams will be formed by the In-House Baseball Board in such a manner as to form balanced and competitive teams. A Head Coach will be allowed to keep his child, the Assistant Coach's child, and up to two other children with whom they verbally committed with. The other players will be placed on teams based on previous and present coaching input, area of residence, and special family considerations by members of the In-House Baseball Board.
 

State Tournament Information;

There is a State Level Tournament held the weekend of July 31.  The top teams from the in-house level year end tournament will have the opportunity to play in that tournament.  The Tournament Director will notify the coaches of the teams that will be advancing on to this tournament.  The team will be responsible for paying any gate fee that is required (usually $100).

Fees for 12U Baseball

The cost to play 12U Baseball for the 2021 season will be a total of $250.  This includes a registration fee of $150, a fundraiser fee of $50 and a volunteer fee of $50.  The fundraiser and volunteer fee are both refundable to you.  You will pay these fees on the first 2 children you register.  If you register 3 or more children you will only pay a total of $30 for their total registration fee and you will not pay for the fundraiser or volunteer fee for those children.  To find out more about our fundraiser and volunteer programs see our home page or click on the links below.
