8U Baseball

League Description

Players must be 8 years old or younger as of May 1, 2017 in order to be eligible for this age group for the 2017 season.

The 8 & under (8U) baseball division is a "Coach Pitch" league and typically the girls now play softball and the boys play baseball.  Coaches are still allowed to give instruction while on the field for this age group and 4 players play in the outfield.

SBAA provides each player with a jersey, baseball pants, socks and a hat so the player just needs a glove and the shoes that work best for them (cleats or regular tennis shoes).  SBAA also provides bats, helmets and baseballs; but players are strongly encouraged to have their own helmets.

**Practices and games are held on Monday and Wednesday nights.  All games are scheduled for 6:30pm on various fields in Ham Lake and East Bethel.

The season starts at the end of April (exact date determined by the weather) and goes until the weekend tournament in July (see below).

8U Baseball 2017 Year End Tournament; July 14-16

At the end of the season SBAA will set up and direct a tournament for the 8U teams.  We will separate them into 2 Tiers if there are enough teams to do so.  The 1st and 2nd place teams in each tier will receive a trophy and all other teams will receive medals for their accomplishments.

Fees for 8U Baseball

The cost to play 8U Baseball for the 2017 season will be a total of $225.  This includes a registration fee of $125, a fundraiser fee of $50 and a volunteer fee of $50.  The fundraiser and volunteer fee are both refundable to you.  You will pay these fees on the first 2 children you register.  If you register 3 or more children you will only pay a total of $30 for their total registration fee and you will not pay for the fundraiser or volunteer fee for those children.  To find out more about our fundraiser and volunteer programs see our home page or click on the links below.
